Our day o'love.

Rain, go away! I am so tired of being cold!

So, yesterday when Ike was supposed to be getting ready for church, this is what I found. Any guesses who did this?

We had a great Valentine's Day, if not totally uneventful. Well, I guess that's not true. It was just laid back. And considering that the older I get the less I care about V-day, laid back is okay.

We realized at 8:15am that because it wasn't raining, Mikey's baseball practice at 8:30am was probably a go. So, Big Hunk took him to that while I prepared our yummy breakfast. Heart-shaped biscuits and gravy, sausage and scrambled eggs. Nothing like comfort food on a cold, overcast morning. Then, we hung around for a bit before I made yet another Valentine meal, heart-shaped pizzas on pita bread, apples & strawberry soda. The pizza was so good! Then, later that afternoon BH & I headed out for a date. We never ever go out on Valentine's Day because it's always so crowded, but our only plans were to go to a movie (two actually) so we didn't worry about it.

We ended up seeing Mall Cop & Confessions of a Shopaholic. I had so much fun! Going to the movies is one of my very favorite things to do, so sitting down & laughing for 3 hours while eating popcorn and candy was a perfect night for me! Mmm. Mr. Goodbar. Good N' Plenty.

It's been raining seemingly nonstop for like 40 days here. I LOVE the rain. I HATE the cold. And unfortunately, when you get constant rain in February, it's going to be cold. But man you should see the mountains! It is so beautiful. Our heating bill? Not so much.

Before I head out, my friend Veronica is having a Valentine's Day giveaway! Check it out.

(As I was typing this, it started to hail. Hard. For only like 3 minutes, but enough time to capture photos of BH throwing the kids out in it.)

  2. I haven't been to a movie in ages but I used to love it so much! Glad you had fun. I live in PA and I have had it up to here (hand held REALLY high) with the cold and winter this year....me saying it hasn't made the spring come, yet. I love your blog design...so pretty and your posts were so nice to read. Hope you get "sunny and warm" soon.
